updates for all

ok so here are some updates as to what is going on, i found out that i had 4 classes, yes not many but i didnt expect to get that many out of what i had but depending on how many hours each class is at JBC that equals out to about 12 credit hrs. so i have a full semester i dont have to take, so come Christmas i will offically be a sophmore. Also i just sent in the rest of my papers for school so now just to wait for some return mail, and to find out who my room mate is.

The rest of the news has to do more with the summer but still sorta with JBC. I do have a possible job this summer, and i go in for an interview on tues at 7:45 pm. im excited not only because it is a a job, but because i will be a counsler at a summer church camp, meaning i get to work with kids. which as you probably have guessed will be experience for me later on in my life, i also will be a counsler at the RCW camp at NCSU this summer. you might be asking how this relates to JBC, well let me tell ya. it might as well be labled RA for that week, cause thats pretty much what il be doing. So that will factor in for exp, when i go to apply to be an RA. I also found out i might be helping with a program at church, but i will deff let you know more when i find out. have a wonderful day and thanks for reading.

for prayer request
-pray that i keep the focus on God
-Brad Jones Aunt is have complications with her recent heart transplant
-safe travel and that if it is Gods will that i get this summer job.

btw, if you have a microwave that you are not using, i could use one for my dorm room at JBC.

i got some news for ya

I GOT INTO JBC FOR THE FALL !!!!!!

here is the email

and i know its a short one, but I am so stoked to see what God is doing!

Will,

It was good to get to know you through our visit last week, your essay, and the great references that I have received from the people close to you. I am excited about the incoming Freshman class and what they are going to do for His kingdom. I wanted you to know that I received your final item, your commitment essay and I was able to submit your file for review to the Admissions Director.

It is my pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted for enrollment at Johnson Bible College. We know that you have been working hard in school and with your church, and we are excited about you furthering your ministry here with us. I would like to take this time, however, to point out the concern the Admissions Director had for your other grades from your previous schooling. He has placed you on Academic Watch for the first semester to ensure that you will stay focused and can do the work set before you. We also would like to point out the Academic Support Center that is available on campus.

Go tell your friends, parents and grandparents! You will be receiving the official letter and other documents in the mail shortly! Talk to you soon!

Looking forward to having you here with us in the Fall! Hope to talk to you shortly!

Guys thank you so much for the prayer, and concern.

for today the prayer request would for you to pray for me to succeed at JBC

My Trip to JBC......this one took alot longer ot get out than i expected....sorry :)

Ok so on wednesday night i headed to Johnson for my first visit by myself. I am so happy that i went, i got to see a beautiful campus, and got a wonderful chance to sit in on Dr. Reece's class. Lets just say that after the visit i want that acceptance letter to come all the faster, and then for august to get here even faster. Johnson has such a beautiful campus, and i cant wait to get to live and study on the campus. They even have tennis courts, so i will finally be able to get to play some tennis :).

Well let me break down what all went into the trip, I started off by heading by church to get my references from Shawn and Jon and they also included the proof read of the essay, which was awesome thank you both very much. After that i headed to Johnson, of course i wasn't able to head to there by I-40, cause if you haven't heard they have 40 closed near the state line because of the rock slides. so i had to take 40 to 52N to 74 to 81. so when i got there i meet up with Wes, who was the student i was staying with for the night, and got to meet the students on his hall and chill with them for the night. They were awesome people and i cant wait to make friends like them at JBC. The next morning i woke up at 8 am for breakfast and met with Josh in the activities center so that we could go to chapel.

Ok so chapel needs its own paragraph, it was that special. The best way to describe it is like a mini service for sunday...but that doesn't really describe it. It was awesome to get to worship with everyone at JBC and get to see what that was like. After Chapel i headed to Prophets with class, This class just so happened to be taught to by the awesome Dr. Reece, and let me say i hope i get as many classes with this man as i can. He actually sent me a personal letter the other day and i just got it. That letter just reinforced that JBC is the school that i need to be at.

After the class we went on a campus tour, for pictures visit my facebook page and you can check those out, we went everywhere, but my favorite thing of the tour, was well everywhere. I learned a lot like how for the very first students were able to go free, now wouldnt that be nice, but they also had to work on the far which is what a majority of the campus was.

The buildings where amazingly beautiful, and i cant wait to take classes in those. all in all it was an awesome trip and it all reinforced the fact that God wants me here. i cant wait to be here, and now that i have my essay in i am just waiting on a response, which im hoping will be a yes.

Prayer request

i have one major one now
-please pray that if it is Gods will that i would get into JBC, and that it be a swift response from JBC.

God bless you guys for all of your support and prayer guys!!! it means more than you know.

Its been a few days...and

Ok so here is an update for what all has happened in the past few days, and im glad to have those things done.

I have been trying for the past few days to get this essay and application done. I am happy to tell you that i just submitted the application and i have finished and typed the essay. I have copies for several people to proof read, so look for me to get ahold of you. i also filled out the reference forms for those that i want to reference for me. so deff look for that. I had this weekend to my self becuase my parents were out of town with my brother. I got to spend this time with friends and even got to read my bible one of the mornings :), that was awesome time to see Gods glory and beauty around me while reading his word :). so i also have become organized, which i have learned is the only way to be when you have to take care of it all :). i have a folder with all of my stuff pertaining to JBC, and im even emailing Josh...who by the way has been a huge help through all of this. i have all of my papers printed off that i need to fill out, and plan to get those done this week, and i should know this week whether or not i am getting in, and i pray that it is, but i have faith that i will get in cause i feel this is were God wants me.

I do plan on heading up there this weekend, for a visit and tour and to sit n on a class. plan to take pictures and let you know how that goes. I did also get to read the handbook, i keep getting more and more interested in JBC. I can't wait for August and school cant start soon enough, wait did i just say that...yes i did wow, its been a while since i have said that :). il keep you updated, and i feel as though im missing something. oh well, im sure il let you know :D.

ok here we are the prayer request time

- i would love if you would pray for me as i continue on this path, it is alot of work but deffinently worth it.
-also pray that i have a fun and safe time with my visit to JBC.

and a praise, someone told me they were touched by these blogs, and that is exactly what i want to happen, so amen to seeing God move :D

Today was very informative....plus i gained a new favorite coffee place

Ok so today i learned alot, and as the title found i found a new favorite coffee place, and a new favorite coffee drink. So in all a great day...ok bye!

wait just kidding, i wouldnt do that to you. But if you dont wanna read about, and be a losser...you know who you are...no names shal be named

Ok so today i went to Pinedale at 11:30 and meet up with Jon, Shawn and Katie. First off if you ever want to get under shawns skin, make sure to wear a UNC tarheels shirt around him...just saying. Back to the story, after determining that we were going to Kernal Kustards, which you deffinently need to check out if you never have...just saying, we got our food and sat down and talked a little bit about youth ministry. They started by asking me a few questions, like if i was still gona pursue a cop job or a ups driver job and i told them no, that i didnt have the time to devote to that. After that, all while enjoying the wonderful food, i was able to ask my questions, which consisted of what is it like being a youth minister, what is it like being an intern, what are some of the best and worst things of being a youth minister, how did you know what bible college to go to, and what to expect/how to excel and succeed at bible college. I got a lot of information out of all three of them, and it broadened my perspective of Bible college, and being a youth minister. I can tell you that after my time with Jon, Shawn and Katie I am 110% sure that this is what i need to be doing, that i am going ot the right college, and that God is calling me to be a youth minister. So all in all deffinently worth my time, and i gained alot of knowledge, i really appreciate all three of them giving me some time out of there day, to help inform me. Thank you so much guys.

No i promise i didnt forget about my new favorite coffee place, which btw is brewnerds, on hanes mall blvd. I loved the atmosphere, and we even found a cool picture there haha. il try to upload it to my facebook, so you can check it out.

I just want everyone to know, in all seriousness that i am really do appreciate the help and care that everyone is showing me. It is such a huge help to have some many people behind me.

And one more thing that went really well today, i finished my application to JBC, which is deffinently a good thing. now all i have to do is wait for mom and dad to get home so they can pay for the fee so i can send it in. that was a big thing that needed to do, cause of course i cant move any farther forward without getting my application into the school. Another thing that i got done today was that i picked up my high school transcript, which of course also needed to be done.

So to wrap up all that happened today

-had a lunch with Jon, Shawn and Katie, which went really well.

-got my application for JBC completed, just waiting on them to get home so i can send it in.

-got my high school transcript

some of the things left to do are

-write my essay, as to why i should be at JBC

-get my refrence lettters

-head up there for a tour

all right once again guys, thanks for reading and from now on im gona try to include a pray request or two at the bottom of each blog so if you want to pray for something, you arent just wondering

prayer request

- pray that this moves along, and that i keep motivated, and that God moves with this

-pray that i remember that this is in Gods hands and that i not get irratated with anything

-pray that I dont let anything get ahead of me, and that i get everything done in a timely fashion.

Todays progress, and talking to JBC

Ok so today i spent a good portion of it talking on the phone to JBC, mainly the administration office, and the financial aid office. I can't help but give them a little plug, they were very helpful and understanding. They answered all of my questions, and even gave me some info on things that i hadn't thought of. Ever time i research JBC and ind out information on it, it reassures me that JBC is the college for me, and no im not dissing the other Bible Colleges out there, they are amazing colleges....its just that JBC appeals to me. I learned that it will cost me about $7,575 for the fall semester, and $7,540 for the spring semester. Not as bad as i thought it might be, but still alot of money, but the good thing is that there is alot of options for financial aid, and scholarships, and for grants. Im not worried about paying for it, that will all be taken care of in time. I have decided that i want to attend JBC in the fall and get this moving. I am so excited to see God moving in me, and what is going on at Pinedale, which by the way you need to check out SOMA it is awesome. I am gettign help form alot of people and most importantly my parents are behind me 110%, not that they weren't before its just nice knowing that they, along with my church and friends are all behind me :). I spent an hour this morning walking up and down my street, about a 2-2 1/2 mile stretch just with me and God, praying and worshiping him, and man that was the best time i have had in a long time. There is amazing power in alone time with God. Its amazing how fast this whole process is going, before i know it, it will be the fall semester, then the spring semester then year 2,3 and 4 will go by and il be graduating and God will be working through me to effect someone. I do pray that through all of this i can effect, even if it is just one person, and show them that if you let him God can do great things through you and anything is possible. I just have to remember that this is all for God, and that al the praise is for him...I do constantly praise him for calling me to be a youth minister, and for giving me the wisdom to ask the right questions and to be able to praise him. I also played a little phone tag with Jon, and he called me and we, by we i mean Jon, Shawn, Katie and I, are going to have a lunch meeting tomorrow to talk about youth ministry and what to expect at the bible college and what to expect as a youth minister. Im also thinking of asking Bryan and Kristen if i can help out on tour this year, to get to spend some time with the Five and Two group before i head off to bible college in the fall.

If you want to know what you can do.....well pray for me, everyone is being so helpful and awesome to me, thank you all so much.

i want to leave you with a song that is personal to me, and really touched me on my walk this morning.

I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice
To worship you, Oh my soul rejoice!
Take joy, my King, in what you hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear

I love you, Lord, and I lift my hands
To worship you as my soul demands
Take joy, my King, in what you see
May I be a sweet, sweet child on your knee

I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice
To worship you, Oh my soul rejoice!
Take joy, my King, in what you hear
Make it a sweet, sweet sound in your ear

Make it a sweet, sweet sound in your ear

Scriptural Reference:

"Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation." Psalm 35:9

and this bible verse too

Philp. 4:13 I can do all things through him that gives me strength.

have a wonderful and blessed day :).

My Path to Becoming a Youth Minister

hey guys, my name is Will, and i am on my way to becoming a youth minister, let me update you on that process so far.

Today, i called Johnson Bible College, and talk to someone, i cant recall the name of the gentleman but he was very helpful. He informed me quite a bit about the college, and answered alot of my questions about the admissions process, and what needed to be done to gain entrance into the college. I also went to my past colleges, minus ECPI, and collected the unoffical transcripts, and yes i know that I need the offical ones to get into the college, i got these becuase i need to know the dates, for some of the jobs i am trying to get. I am also going to lunch either, Tuesday or Wednesday with Jon Hauser, Shawn Maurer, and Katie Rath so that i can ask them questions and learn some about the process of becoming a youth minister, what the classes and such are like, and what being an actual youth minister is like. I will update you tomorrow on how that goes, and for now that is all, feel free to comment, and if you want to know what you can do for me.....PRAY. I need plenty of prayer, and dont we all, but i would deffinently appreciate the prayer, and if you have advice about JBC, then please tell me.
